I very much enjoy the work that I do for some of the largest publishers. I am an approved freelancer (following testing) for a number of large publishers and project management companies.

I work both on screen and in hard copy. For proofreading jobs, I can mark up in hard copy using BSI symbols or use annotation tools to mark up PDFs using proof-correction marks.

I use PerfectIt and a range of macros to both ensure greater accuracy and consistency and save publishers time and money, for example to:

• Check the consistency of proper nouns
• Automate the checking of references and citations
• Instantly check for mismatched quote marks

​I am experienced in making sound editorial decisions with reference to a variety of style guides and briefs, raising appropriate queries with authors and project managers, checking running heads and styling copy.

I can correct or query issues such as the consistency of places, characters, names and timeline. Depending on what you need, I can identify and fix problems with dialogue beats and tags, tenses and head-hopping, and improve cadence and rhythm.
